Anticipated tallest statue of the virgin Mary to be ready 2021

The soon to be tallest statue of the virgin Mary situated in the Philippines which is about 100 meters (315 feet) high is expected to be completed in 2021 to mark the 500th anniversary of Christianity in the region.



The statue is under the authorship of the famous abstractionist Filipino sculptor Eduardo De Los Santos Castrillo who recently passed on.




The monument known as “The Mother of All Asia” also called the tower of peace will become the tallest statue of the Virgin Mary in the world occupying the position now occupied by the Venezuelan 153-feet-tall “Our Lady of Peace” statue, which was built in 1983.



The Marian Monument is committed to the unity and peace of all peoples and countries in South Asia and occupies a floor area of around 130,000 square feet.


It is also expected to make space for the St. John Paul II shrine, 12 Marian chapels in the third floor, a food hall on the fourth, mini theaters and conference rooms, and even commercial and residential spaces, and is crowned with a viewing deck on the 17th floor

Church in Ghana: New Friary for Franciscan Brothers to be constructed soon

The Catholic Church in Ghana has, in an isolated ceremony cut sod for the construction of a new Friary (CURIA) for the Franciscan Friars and is expected to house  the Parish Priest of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church- Anyaa in the Archdiocese of Accra. The groundbreaking ceremony was manned by the Most Rev John Bonaventure Kwofie, Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra and Apostolic Administrator of the Sekondi Takoradi Diocese on Wednesday May 6, 2020 with call on the community to rededicate their lives to christ through the church and live in unity.
